When search engine users click on your Pay Per Click advertisement, they are forwarded to a webpage on your site. You are ONLY charged when a user actually clicks on your ad, not when it appears on the page. This means the visitor typed in a keyword, and your ad appeared becuase you told it to appear when someone typed in that keyword. This is HIGHLY targeted traffic if you use the right keywords and phrases and can be very powerful. Typically minimum bids start at $0.05 and can get as high as $50/click, although few bids ever reach that higher level. For most advertisers bidding averages between $0.25 and $1 per click, but this is something that can be specified and limited in each individual PPC campaign.
